OBEDIENCE IS THE KEY
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
God is giving Moses specific instructions for the children of Israel. He tells them He is sending an angel to guide them to the Promised Land, and they are to be careful to obey Him. Obedience is the key in this passage in Exodus 23. Multiple times God reminds Moses to tell the people to obey God’s directions. We see that obedience is the key to blessing. We learn in Exodus 23 that when we obey God fights our battles for us. When we obey God promises to provide what we need to live—food and water. When we obey God promises to give us physical health. When we obey God promises to give us children. Obedience is always God’s path to blessing. If we are living in lack and chaos we need to return to the Word of God. We need to discover where in our lives we have allowed disobedience. We need to repent and turn away from our disobedience and begin to live again in obedience. As a father I wanted to bless my children. But if my children were selfish and making bad choices with their lives it was difficult to bless them. I always would love them, but I couldn’t bless them if I couldn’t trust them to make the right choices in their lives. When I saw them making good choices, I wanted to bless them the best I could. Our Heavenly Father is the same way. He wants to bless us if we will commit to obey Him and put Him first in our lives.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit please show me any place in my life where I am not in full obedience to God. Help me to learn to live daily in obedience to You.
