ARE WE ON THE RIGHT FREQUENCY?
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Jesus is talking about the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He calls Him our Helper, Advocate, Comforter, and Encourager. Then Jesus explains the work of the Spirit in our lives and says part of that work is peace. Peace is a gift that the Spirit of God brings into the life of believers. In fact, Paul lists peace as the third part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5. He says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…. We live in a world that is devoid of peace. So many people are turning to drugs or alcohol to escape the turmoil in their minds. Other turn to elicit relationships or extreme adventures to try and escape. But God offers a better plan—He gives us the Holy Spirit to live inside of us and be our constant source of peace. In order to enjoy the peace the Spirit offers we must be tuned in to His frequency. As I sit writing this devotion there are thousands of signals floating through my room and yours. If you have the correct receiver you can listen to music, news, or hundreds of shows. But you must have the correct receiver. Until we allow the Holy Spirit to tune our hearts to the frequency of God, we miss out on what God wants to offer to our lives. We are trying to work up something we can’t achieve. True peace is only found by being in tune with the Spirit of God. When we allow the Spirit to tune us properly, we begin to live in peace—regardless of the chaos around us. Are you on the right channel?
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me get on the right channel. Help my thoughts and priorities be to please You and hear from you. Help me to listen to the nudge You bring into my life.
