IN AGREEMENT WITH THE VALUES OF GOD

Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
True wealth comes from God. I know that people get financial wealth separate from God. But true wealth comes from God—not the lottery. If I believe “power and might” are in God’s hand then I have to believe that when I lean into a proper relationship with God, He is big enough to take care of me and my needs. Faith is having a big view of God. It is not trying to control God, it is simply believing that when I partner with God, He will take care of things. What if a wealthy businessman gave me his credit card and told me I have unlimited use of the card, if I use it in agreement with his values only. If I used it outside his values, he would take the card back. I would immediately want to know his values. I would want to be careful I didn’t use the card on something he hates. Let’s say I discovered that he believed that Toyotas were the best cars to purchase and drive and a specific model was the best one. I would purchase that vehicle to drive because it was in keeping with his values. The better I knew his values the easier it would be to purchase things that he would approve. I could learn to live well if I stayed within his values. That is what God has said to us. He has all power and strength. He has all wealth. He can bless us beyond our dreams. The issue is, we must live in agreement with His values. Those values are spelled out in the Bible. The better we know the Bible the better our lives will agree with God’s values. Then we can expect greater blessings because God knows He can trust us to use these blessings in a manner keeping with His values.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit I believe that You are my Teacher and Guide. Help me to know the values of my Heavenly Father. Help me to live my life in agreement with Your will and ways. Help me to honor You in every part of my life. Help me to trust You as I follow Your Word.
