GOD PAID A HIGH PRICE FOR US
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.
1 Corinthians 7:23 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
How much are you worth? What is your value?
I’m not talking about your financial net worth, that can be figured by adding everything you have and subtracting everything you owe and hoping it is a positive number. Many people confuse their worth with their net financial value.
My house may have an appraised value of $500,000, but if no one is willing to pay that then it is not worth that much. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
I could have a guitar that may seem used and old, but if it was once owned by John Lennon, it could be worth a lot of money. I have a friend who loves to collect guitars and he is willing to pay a nice price for the right guitar. They are beautiful but to me I’m not that interested—nor do I have that kind of money.
The worth of an object is often based on what someone is willing to pay for that object—guitar, house, baseball card, work of art, etc. Our scripture today says that God “paid a high price for you.” The God Who created us and formed us gave His only Son to die for us because He thought we were worth that much.
God says we are valuable. He believes in us. Don’t allow the world to try to make you think you are worthless. You have great value. Value that is far greater than your looks, educational level, bank account, or abilities. You are valuable because God has paid a great price for you.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me today to see myself the way You see me. Help me to live like I am valuable. Help me to show that same value to others.

Thank You, Heavenly Father for deciding that I had value.
