WALKING IN DIVINE INHERITANCE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.”
Galatians 3:26–29 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
These verses contain powerful, identity-defining truths—truths we need to live out daily. In just a few lines, Paul reminds us of who we are, how we relate to each other, and what we’ve been promised. Let’s take a closer look.
1. We Are Children of God
When we place our faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord, we become God’s children—fully accepted, fully loved.
In a world full of identity confusion, this truth is stabilizing. Every day, we’re bombarded by voices trying to tell us who we are—or who we’re not. Social media, politics, past wounds, and even our own thoughts try to define us. But if we don’t shut down the noise, we’ll forget who we really are.
Identity releases intimacy. When I forget who I am, I struggle to draw close to God. Confusion creates distance. It’s like using two GPS apps at once—Waze and Google Maps—both telling you different routes. You end up anxious and uncertain, unsure of where to turn.
That’s what it’s like trying to listen to God and the world at the same time.
But God speaks clearly:
“You are forgiven.”
“You are free.”
“You are My child.”
That truth should shape how we view ourselves—and others. Don’t let Satan tell you you’re a failure when God calls you forgiven. Don’t let others label you broken when God says you’re blessed.
2. We Are One in Christ
Paul writes that in Christ, “there is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female.” This isn’t about erasing uniqueness—it’s about establishing equality and unity.
To bring it into modern terms:
In God’s eyes, there’s no difference in race, status, political party, family background, or bank account. When we put on Christ, we all stand before God on equal footing—fully valued, fully loved.
That means every believer is your brother or sister.
That means every person has God-given dignity.
Do you see others the way God sees them?
I often pray: “Lord, help me see people through Your eyes.”
3. We Are Heirs of Abraham
Paul closes with a powerful truth: “You are the true children of Abraham… God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.”
In Christ, we’ve inherited the covenant. We’re not biological Jews, but we are spiritual heirs. That means every promise God gave Abraham now belongs to us.
“I will bless you.”
“You will be the head and not the tail.”
“You will be a blessing to others.”
This is covenant language. You are not living off leftover grace—you are walking in divine inheritance.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me to walk confidently as a child of God. Remind me that I am one with every believer in Christ, and that I am an heir of Abraham’s promises. Help me to silence the voices of confusion and tune my heart to Yours. Let me see others through Your eyes and live as one who is deeply loved and divinely called. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
