GOD HAS GOOD PLANS FOR US

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

As we begin this new year let’s decide to start with a year of expectation and excitement over what God is going to do in and through us. God’s Word gives us many promises about the plans God has for us—if we chose to partner with His work in and through our lives.

In the book of Ezekiel, chapter four, we read about a time when God shows the prophet Ezekiel a valley of dry bones. This was a symbol of hopelessness. It was a statement about the nation of Israel because they had rejected God and His plan for the nation. They were dry bones with no life.

God tells Ezekiel to speak to the bones and the wind. As Ezekiel does his part the bones come together, and the wind breathes life into the dead bones. The dead bones become a mighty army.

I believe God gives us this same power with our mouths. We can speak life into the most desperate circumstances of our lives. We can partner with the Spirit of God and see transformation from death to life.

Rarely does this happen instantly. It is our decisions to daily partner with God in our times of reading the Word, prayer, and obedience that gives life to dead bones. As we begin to sense God’s will in our lives, we are moved to speak faith into circumstances and relationships that seem dead. We can join with God in calling those things that are not yet evident into existence.

God has good plans for us this coming year. Let’s decide today we will partner with Him to see His good plans that give us a future and a hope.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit today I commit myself to partner with You in this coming year. I ask You to open my eyes to see what You want to do in and through me for this year. Help me to speak life into the dead bones in my world.

“Scroll down to share what you feel God is saying based on today’s reading.
