WE DON’T FACE THE BATTLE ALONE
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Then the Egyptians—all of Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and charioteers—chased them into the middle of the sea. But just before dawn the Lord looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud, and he threw their forces into total confusion. He twisted their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult to drive. “Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!” the Egyptians shouted. “The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt!”
Exodus 14:23-25 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
God is doing one of the great miracles of the Bible. Two million Israelites are walking through the Red Sea on dry ground. There is a pillar of fire behind them to protect them from the Egyptian army. As they walk through the sea the Egyptian army follows them. But God slows down the Egyptians by twisting their chariot wheels. Other translations say their wheels began to come off their chariots. The Egyptians begin to realize God is fighting for the children of Israel. There will be battles in our lives. As followers of Christ there will be some who want to discredit us or attack us, but when we are walking in obedience to God He will fight for us. We never have to face a battle by ourselves. God is always going to fight for us. Our God has never lost a battle. He will always be victorious. We may have battles with depression, addiction, habits, sickness, financial lack, or relationships. Whatever your battle may be today if you chose to walk in obedience to God in your life, He will fight for you. He will bring into your life other people who will fight for you. As followers of Christ we never have to fight our battles alone. Not only do we have the help of the Holy Spirit, but we also have the help of the family of God. Don’t try to fight your battles by yourself.
