KNOW THAT GOD IS PRESENT
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
I go east, but he is not there. I go west, but I cannot find him. I do not see him in the north, for he is hidden. I look to the south, but he is concealed. “But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.
Job 23:8-10 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Job writes these words after he has gone through great loss—his children, his property, and his health. In his desperation Job looks for God but can’t find Him.
Job looks in the east, the west, the north, and the south—but Job concludes that God is concealed. Job also concludes that God is testing him.
This is a crucial discovery. Job keeps his faith in God even when he has no feeling of God’s presence. It is easy to trust God when you are in a corporate time of praise and worship with the body of Christ. You can feel God’s presence and your faith soars.
But what about when life is tough, confusing, and frustrating? What about when you don’t get the answers you want from your prayers? What about when it seems God is on vacation during your crisis?
Faith says, “He knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.”
This moment may be a test that God has allowed to see how we will do in the tough times. You don’t win medals for how good you march in the parade. You win medals because you fought in a battle and survived. No one wins every battle. Some battles you just must survive. If you survive enough battles, you will win the war.
Whatever you are going through today you can rest in the assurance that God knows where you are and where you are going. He has not abandoned you even if you can’t sense His presence. When the test is over you will once again rejoice in the presence of Almighty God.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit please help me to keep my focus on You. Help me keep my faith in Your love for me even when I don’t see or feel You. I know You will bring me through this momentary struggle.

I had a car accident 12-22-23 and have been out of work every since. I've put in applications, looking for cars but for some reason no call back for a job and all the cars are lemons. I've been following along with church daily reading plan, praying, worship. I've felt like I couldn't find God anywhere, but I'm grateful that his hasn't taken his hands off of me. Because not one bill has been unpaid. I know his there and I'm grateful for all of it. But I miss the most about my situation is not being able to pay tithes
My God has never lost a battle. He is fighting for me even when I don’t see Him.
I have never not felt God’s presence. I’m glad I always feel him close to me.
