YOUR WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

Ephesians 1:4-8 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Wow—this passage is worth at least a couple of reads.

First, “before he made the world, God loved us and chose us.” God didn’t wait for us to clean up our act or become a better person, He loved us before we were born.

Secondly, “in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” God chooses to see us “in Christ.” When God looks at me and you, He sees us as we are in Christ. We are holy because He is holy. We are without fault because He is without fault. God doesn’t just see us as forgiven; He sees us as holy.

God gets pleasure in seeing us come into His grace. When we accept His grace and surrender to His plan for our lives God rejoices and celebrates.

Not only has God given us grace but He also wants to give us wisdom and understanding. The Holy Spirit living inside of you and me wants to guide us, teach us, and show us how to live. We have a tutor and guide living inside of us.

We are loved. We are forgiven. We are full of God’s grace, wisdom, and understanding.

Let’s decide today that we will begin to live as a person who is loved, forgiven, full of grace, wisdom, and understanding.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit help me to see myself as You see me so that I can see others as You see them. Help me to listen to Your wisdom and understanding.

I said this to myself in the mirror this morning!

I am loved. I am forgiven. I am full of God’s grace, wisdom, and understanding.

Thank you for this nugget. I will cherish it and keep it handy.
