A LIGHT SHINING IN OUR HEARTS
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
2 Corinthians 4:6-7 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
As we prepare for the Christmas season, we should pause to remember this season is about God sending light into a dark world. Every twinkling light should remind us of God’s light that came into our darkness.
God’s light came through Jesus into our hearts. This light is now shining in our hearts. We are “like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.”
I really love that wording. It is easy to forget we are “fragile clay jars.” None of us are perfect. Perfection is not a requirement for having God’s light in our lives. God’s grace and mercy has been released through Jesus so that we can carry God’s light into our world.God’s desire for us is that we be light bearers. We are His source of lighting the world. Every act of love that we perform for others is releasing God’s light into someone’s dark world.
Let’s be careful that all the lights at Christmas are not coming from earthly electricity. Let’s shine some light that is coming from heaven’s source of light.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me to be a bearer of light. Show me areas of my life where I am blocking Your light from shining in my life. Show me where I can shine for You.

Lord I know I sin and I know the things I need to work on to be better and shine like the brightest light.
I want to be God’s light bearer.
Help me to be the leader that leads with Your Light.
