TODAY’S THOUGHT
How long would it take you to drain the ocean if you used a gallon bucket? Could you do it faster with a five-gallon bucket? I’m pretty sure that you would run out of energy and life before you could empty the ocean with any size of bucket.
When we compare our needs with God’s “glorious riches” it is like comparing the water in a five-gallon bucket with the water in the ocean. God owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and all the resources that are under those hills—the oil, diamonds, and other minerals. His resources are unlimited.
God wants to supply all our needs not according to OUR NEED but according to HIS RICHES. We mess up because we are thinking of the size of our need instead of the size of His provision.
There is no lack of resources or desire on God’s part. He has the resources, and He wants to release them to supply our needs. The blockage to our blessing is us.
Let me repeat that — “the blockage to our blessing is us.” We must put ourselves in a place to be blessed. We must submit ourselves to God’s will and ways so that He can then release His blessings in our lives.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, show me today the areas of my life that need to change. Reveal to me any blockages to Your blessings. Give me the courage to confess and repent of all sin. Help me to live a life that is blessed by God.
