FEAR AND TRUST THE LORD
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Do you believe God wants YOU to prosper? Some people have been accepted a lie that being a follower of Jesus means you should be broke and poor. They feel guilty if they are blessed financially. This is a lie of Satan. David said, “those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” Let that sink into your spirit for a minute. God wants you to be blessed so you can enjoy the good things of life, bless others, and advance the kingdom of God. God is good. He is not thrilled when His children struggle with fear and anxiety over how to pay their bills. God wants His children to learn to “take refuge in Him.” He wants to be our source and provider. He wants His children to learn to “fear the Lord.” God promises those who “fear him will have all they need.” So, what does it mean to fear the Lord? I believe it means we choose to obey His precepts and laws. We choose to live a life that is in alignment with the will of God. When we begin to study God’s Word and apply His principles to our lives. We begin to discover His provision in and throughout our lives. We can’t expect the provision of God to flow into our lives if we are living with known sin in our lives. Why would God bless our lives if we are in rebellion to His plan for our lives? That doesn’t mean we will be perfect, it means we will be growing and working to become more like Jesus daily. It means we take time to talk to God daily and allow the Holy Spirit to talk to us. We listen for correction and direction in our life. We choose to repent and turn away from attitudes and actions that are in contradiction to the plan of God. When we fear the Lord, we are trusting the Lord. We are declaring that we believe His way is the best way for our life.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit show me any area of my life that is out of alignment with Your will and way. Help me to live in total obedience so that I can receive Your blessing in my life.
