JESUS CHRIST IS LORD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9–11, NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
The name Jesus is recognized around the world. Some speak it with deep reverence, while others misuse or dismiss it. Yet this is the name God placed above every other name—the name of the One who came to rescue us.
This is the name we connect with the Son of God who stepped into our broken world to bear our sin. His coming was the fulfillment of the very first promise of redemption God made to Adam and Eve after the fall—a promise that a Deliverer would come and crush the enemy’s power.
Generations waited. Kingdoms rose and fell. Hope flickered and revived across centuries. And then, in the quietness of a stable, Jesus arrived—the long-promised Savior wrapped in humility.
Charles Wesley captured this anticipation beautifully in his hymn penned in 1744:
Come, thou long-expected Jesus,
Born to set thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in thee.
Jesus willingly exchanged His throne for a cross. He left the glory of heaven for the dust of Galilee. He stepped away from unending worship and entered a world that would reject Him. And He did it all so that our relationship with the Father could be restored.
Because of His sacrifice, we no longer live separated from God or bound by sin. Through Him we are forgiven, redeemed, and free.
One day every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Today we are invited to make that confession willingly, joyfully, and personally. When we do, we discover the life and family God always intended for us.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me walk each day under the Lordship of Jesus. Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to rescue me and set me free.
