FOCUS ON THE PRESENCE OF GOD
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
In our present culture one of the great lies Satan will try to sale is that God is a long way off. He tells us God doesn’t care for us and we are on our own to make life happen.
The psalmist reminds us of the fact that God never gives up on us. He never abandons us. Even when we try to hide from God, He is still present. Even when we don’t feel God or sense His presence, He is still present.
For many people the hectic pace of our lives blocks our ability to recognize the presence of God. I believe that God often speaks in a gentle whisper. It is hard to hear the whisper when you are moving at 90 miles an hour.
We must learn to slow down our life and allow our minds to focus on the presence of God.
I find my time with God’s Word to be crucial in my ability to hear God’s voice. The Word helps my focus and slows me down. It tunes my mind to the way God thinks and works. The Word of God helps prepare my spiritual ears to hear the Spirit of God.
If you don’t sense God’s presence open His Word.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit I know that You are present with me at this moment. Please help my spiritual ears to be sensitive to hear what You are saying. Help me to learn to listen.
