FINDING YOUR GOOD WORKS

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:10 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Let’s dig a little deeper into how to discover the “good things” God has prepare us to do as His masterpiece. Take a few moments to answer these questions.
1. The "Artist’s Mark" (Design)
The Question: What are the natural skills or spiritual gifts that seem to flow out of you with the least amount of "friction"?
The Insight: A masterpiece is designed for a specific function. If God gave you a heart for numbers, your "good work" might be stewardship. If He gave you a heart for listening, it might be counseling. Don't ignore what comes naturally; that is often where the Artist’s hand is most visible.
2. The "Signature" (Passion)
The Question: What specific brokenness in the world makes you the most "holy discontent"—meaning, what problem do you feel a divine nudge to help fix?
The Insight: God often uses our passions as a compass. The "good things" He planned for you usually align with the things that move your heart to action.
3. The "Canvas" (Context)
The Question: Where has God placed you right now (your job, your neighborhood, your family)?
The Insight: Your masterpiece isn't waiting for a museum; it’s meant to be used in the field. Your "good works" for today are likely sitting right in front of you in the people you interact with every day.
4. The "Craftsmanship" (Quality)
The Question: Am I doing my current tasks (even the mundane ones) as a service to the King, or am I just "putting crosses on shoes"?
The Insight: Excellence is a form of worship. Whatever your hand finds to do, doing it with "good craftsmanship" is the first step in fulfilling your purpose.
TODAY’S PRAYER
"Lord, I am Your poem. I am Your handiwork. Help me to stop comparing my canvas to others and start leaning into the unique colors and strokes You’ve used in my life. Open my eyes to the good works You’ve already laid out in my path today. Amen."
