THE POWER OF A DECISION
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“I know the Lord has given you this land,” she told them. “For we have heard how the Lord made a dry path for you through the Red Sea... No wonder our hearts have melted in fear! For the Lord your God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.”

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Joshua’s people were standing on the edge of the Promised Land, facing the massive, intimidating walls of Jericho. To prepare, Joshua sent two spies into the city. Surprisingly, their journey led them to the house of Rahab—a prostitute.
On the surface, it seemed like an unlikely choice for men on a holy mission. Perhaps they felt they would be less conspicuous there, or perhaps they didn't realize that their steps were being ordered by God. Long before the spies arrived, God had been working on the heart of a woman society had cast aside.
The Rahab Shift
Rahab faced a choice: Stay loyal to her city or risk her life for the "God of the heavens." She had heard the stories of the Red Sea and the miracles in the wilderness. She recognized that the Israelites’ God was the true Supreme God.
That one decision—to hide the spies and align herself with God—did more than just save her life. It changed the destiny of her entire family.
From the Harlot's House to the King's Lineage
The grace of God is so radical that Rahab is listed in the genealogy of Jesus (Matthew 1:5). This woman, who started as a marginalized harlot in a pagan city, married into the nation of Israel and became part of the family tree of the Messiah.
Your current situation never dictates your ultimate destination when God is involved.
What Is Your "Small" Decision Today?
Most of life’s major impacts don’t come from one massive event, but from the power of making the right small decisions. When we continually make right choices in the "little" things, they compound into a legacy of faith.
Is there a decision you’ve been putting off? A conversation you need to have. A step of faith you need to take. Like Rahab, your decision today could impact generations to come.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me see the decisions I need to make today through Your eyes. Direct my steps and my conversations. I choose to walk in step with You, trusting that You can turn my small acts of faith into a great destiny. Amen.
