ABSOLUTE TRUTH
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
Genesis 3:4-7 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
The fall of humanity! Up to this moment in human history—which was a short amount of time—God and man had a wonderful relationship of complete unity. Then Satan comes into the perfect environment of the garden and tempts man. God had commanded man not to eat from the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.” God said they would die if they ate of that tree. Satan said they would not die but instead they would be like God and know right and wrong. The concept is that man would be allowed to decide for themselves what was right and wrong instead of having to listen to God tell them what was right and wrong. Adam and Eve decide that being able to make up their own rules sounds like a good idea. They want to be the boss. They eat from the tree that looks good. Since that moment in time man has always wanted to be like God. We want to determine for ourselves what is right and wrong. Even though God says something is wrong we want to rationalize and justify our actions as okay. Years ago a wise man told me that we are all smart enough to find an excuse for anything we really want to do, regardless of how much it is against God’s moral law. Our human minds have been so infected with the sin virus we can justify our actions regardless of how perverted, wicked, or horrible those actions may be. Often, we can even justify actions we make that we would condemn in anyone else. We feel that we are the exception to having to obey God’s rules. The downward spiral of humanity starts with a rejection of absolute truth. We see that today. People want to make up their own rules of what is right and wrong. They don’t want to accept the Bible as absolute truth but instead want to reinterpret God’s Word and remove that portion that condemns their personal actions. Freedom is found in submission! When we submit to the perfect law of God and make God’s Word our rule of conduct, we become free from the compromise and behavior of a sinful society. Without an absolute truth the downward spiral of humanity is unstopped. Just read the book of Genesis and see what happened after they ate from the forbidden tree. Cain kills Able and humanity begins to spiral out of control. Eventually God looks on mankind and decides to start all over by washing the earth with a flood.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me to refuse to compromise. Help me to accept Your Word as truth and live by Your truth. Forgive me for justifying my wrong actions. Free me from compromise.

Powerful words
Oh my gosh . I hear God talking to me loud and clear . I myself have been struggling with making some sins okay thinking God knows my heart. However that’s never enough. Every day is a new day and in this year I have fallen short severally of some sins I actually want to stop committing. However I feel God in me he made me special and close to him to know wrong from right . I thank God for being a merciful God but I myself want to do better for him.
