INTENTIONAL TRUST

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.”
Jeremiah 17:7 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
These words were spoken through the prophet Jeremiah during a season of deep spiritual darkness in Israel. The nation was struggling, yet God sent a clear reminder: blessing is not found in circumstances, but in trust. Even when life is hard, those who place their hope and confidence in the Lord are not forgotten—they are blessed.
As we step into a new year filled with plans, goals, and dreams, it’s wise to pause and examine where our trust truly lies. When we genuinely trust the Lord, our plans are no longer self-directed; they are God-directed.
If my hope and confidence are in the Lord, then my plans will flow from the leading of the Holy Spirit. They won’t simply be about promoting myself or making life more comfortable. Instead, they will carry a God-sized purpose.
God-honoring plans always include a kingdom element. They advance His will through our lives. The Holy Spirit desires to work in and through us, shaping how we use our time, energy, and resources so that God’s purposes are accomplished in our world.
Years ago, I heard a speaker ask a powerful question: “If God answered all your prayers tomorrow, how would the world be different?”
For many, the answer might be a nicer car, a bigger house, or a better appearance.
What if we asked a different question?
“What can I do in the next 90 days that would help advance God’s kingdom in my world?”
When we begin to live with that kind of intentional trust, I believe we’ll be amazed at how God’s blessing begins to flow—not just to us, but through us.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me see what You want to do in and through my life. Guide me to set goals that come from You and give me the discipline and perseverance to walk them out each day. Let my life advance Your purposes and bring You glory. Amen.
