GOD IS OUR ONLY QUALIFICATION

TODAY’S THOUGHT
In a world full of self-promotion and social media is it a great reminder that our only true qualification for anything comes from God. Paul, one of the greatest missionaries and church planters of history, wrote these words.
He was used by God to write over one-third of the New Testament. His writings have formed the theology and doctrines of the Church for over two thousand years. He was persecuted, imprisoned, and eventually killed for his faith in Jesus. Yet Paul acknowledged His only qualification was from God.
Many people want to make a name for themselves. They want people to recognize what they have done and achieved in life. This drive for self-promotion is not of God. We must learn to rely on God as our promoter.
As long as we are trying to promote ourselves, we will find ourselves getting in the way of what God wants to do in us and through us. It is only by full surrender to the Lordship of Jesus that we discover who we truly are designed to be.
A.W. Tozer said, "The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making little forward progress is because they haven't yet come to the end of themselves. We're still trying to give orders and therefore interfering with God's work within us."
Let’s start today by deciding we will surrender to God’s will and God’s plan. We will accept that His timing is perfect. We will surrender our right to decide what is right and wrong. We will yield control to the Lord Jesus.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit show me any area of my life where I have not released control to You. Help me to yield fully to Your will and work in my life. Forgive me for self-promotion.
