ENCOURAGE LIFE TOGETHER AS BELIEVERS
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Hebrews 10:25 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Yesterday we talked about tithing as a spiritual discipline and the importance of tithing. Today I’d like to talk about the spiritual discipline of corporate worship.
One of my core values for many years is the belief that life is too tough to do alone. We all need other believers in our lives. We need a community of authentic, meaningful relationships.
These relationships begin when we commit to being faithful in corporate worship on a weekly basis with other believers. Beyond the corporate worship we also commit to being in a small group with other believers.
Every follower of Christ needs regular corporate worship and small group worship. The corporate gatherings are for inspiration and motivation as well as being taught the Word of God. The small groups are where we do life together with other believers. We apply the truth of God’s Word to our daily lives. We wrestle with the daily struggles of life and offer prayer and counsel to each other.
We are stronger together. A snowflake is very fragile. If you grab a snowflake, it will quickly melt in your hand. But if a bunch of snowflakes get together and stick together, they can shut down a highway and almost close a city. There is power in being united with other people.
Who are you doing life with?
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit show me where I need to be committed to corporate worship as well as small group gatherings. Help me to build authentic, meaningful relationships in my life.
