I WILL PROSPER AND BE IN GOOD HEALTH

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
Psalms 91:7 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Is it possible to take this passage literally? Is God really saying that we can be free from the destruction that may be all around us?
One of the principles of the Word is that there are truths that are only applicable to those who apply them by faith to their lives. God offers salvation to those who confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts. Not everyone will be saved even though I believe everyone can be saved.
In the gospel of Luke Jesus said, “There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha, but none of them was cleansed.” (Luke 4:27) Only Naaman, the Syrian, was healed when he obeyed in faith. A foreigner who was not part of God’s covenant family was healed by his faith in obeying the instructions of Elisha.
The healing for leprosy was available to everyone but only one man received by faith what God had provided.
We can look at Psalm 91 as just a nice encouraging passage to read to ourselves for comfort, or we can believe the truths of this passage and release our faith to activate the promises of God. We can choose to abide under the wings of the Almighty and take our shelter in Him. When we are abiding in His protection, we can declare that even though everyone around me is being destroyed I will prosper and be in health.
I am not controlled by the stock market, public opinion, social media, or what everyone else does. I have chosen to be controlled by the truth of God’s Word.
TODAY’S PRAYER
In Jesus name I declare that regardless of the destruction around me I will be safe because I am choosing to abide under the protection of God’s Word. The Spirit within me will direct me and the angels of God will watch over me to keep me from harm or danger. There may be temporary discomfort, but I will always prosper and be in health.
