WALKING IN CLOSE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.
Genesis 6:9 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Noah heard from God and built an ark to save his family and hundreds of animals from destruction. He had specific plans for the ark with instructions from God. How did Noah hear the voice of God?
The key was, “he walked in close fellowship with God.” This is always the key to hearing the voice of God.
Many people through the years of my ministry have asked, “How can I hear the voice of God? How do I know it is God speaking and not the pizza from last night?”
If you ask me what Cindy’s voice sounds like I can’t really describe it in such a way that you will be able to distinguish her voice from the voice of others. But I can hear Cindy in a noisy room and immediately I know it is her. When Cindy calls my name, I not only know it is her voice I know whether things are good or bad. I can read into her tones.
It even goes farther than that. I can be in a crowded room and catch her eye across the room and know that it is time to leave. Without saying a thing, she can communicate with her look.
How did I learn her voice and her look? I have spent over 40 years with Cindy. Spending time together has helped me be sensitive to her voice and her look. But I must be close enough to hear her voice and see her look.
If you are living far from God, it is impossible to hear His voice. You must be close to God. That means you must willfully choose to align your life with His desires and directives. You can only do this by spending time in God’s Word, with God’s Spirit, and with God’s family. Time in the Word, time in prayer, and time with the family of God is how we learn to hear the voice of God.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit help me to be consistent in spending time in Your Word, in prayer, and in community with other believers. Help me to learn to listen to Your voice.

It is so crucial to be where we can hear God’s voice daily.
I want To be close to you Lord .
