LOVE WITHOUT LIMITS

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another. Indeed, you already show your love for all the believers throughout Macedonia. Even so, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you to love them even more.”
1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
It is no accident that Paul moves directly from a hard conversation about sexual holiness to a warm conversation about love. True holiness isn't just about what you don't do; it’s about what you do—and what we are called to do above all else is love.
1. The Source of the Sound
The Bible doesn't just say God has love; it says God is love. He is the very definition and source of it. His love is vast enough to cover the good, the bad, the ugly, and everyone in between. The closer we get to God, the more we should naturally begin to act and talk like Him. If we claim to be "set apart" for God but lack love for people, we are missing the very heartbeat of the One we follow.
2. Love is a Verb
Paul notes that the Thessalonians were already "showing" their love. There are far more people talking about love today than there are people demonstrating it. Historically, the Church has made its greatest impact not through complex theology or perfect doctrine, but through tangible acts of love to the sick, the needy, and the forgotten. People can argue with your arguments, but they cannot refute your love.
3. The Law of Momentum
In my experience, love is never stagnant, it is either growing or it shrinks. There is no such thing as "coasting" in a relationship. Marriages that aren't intentionally working to grow in love often slowly drift out of it. Paul knew this, which is why he urged a church that was already loving to do so "even more." We must constantly look for new opportunities to stretch our capacity to care for others.
Today’s Reflection
Vision: Are you close enough to God to see people the way He sees them? Ask Him to give you His eyes for a "difficult" person in your life today.
Proof: If someone looked at your bank account or your calendar from the last week, what evidence would they find that you are a person of love?
Stretch: How can you grow in love today? Is there a tangible, "even more" step you can take to bless someone who isn't expecting it?
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me to see others as You see them. Help me to make decisions today to intentionally show Your love in a tangible, practical way. Keep me always growing in my love for You and for those around me, so that I never become stagnant. Amen.
