THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE

ree

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.”

Psalms 100:4 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

David gives us a simple but powerful pattern for approaching God: thanksgiving opens the gate, and praise brings us into His courts. Gratitude and worship aren’t just attitudes—they’re the entryway into His presence.

I’m reminded of a moment years ago when Cindy and I were in London for ministry. We stood in front of Buckingham Palace, peering through the iron fence that keeps the public separate from royalty. By God’s providence, it happened to be the queen’s birthday. As we stood on a street corner, her carriage rolled past, followed by other members of the royal family. They passed just feet away. It was unforgettable.

But imagine if the queen had stopped the carriage, looked our way, and invited us to join her inside. It would have been unthinkable—completely outside the norms of access to royalty.

Yet this is exactly what God has done for us. The King of the universe doesn’t place guards or walls between Himself and His people. Instead, He extends an open invitation to draw near, and the doorway into His presence swings open when we come with thanksgiving and praise.

Worship isn’t just something we do; it’s the way we step into the nearness of God Himself.

Let’s pause for a moment.

What has God done in your life that deserves a fresh “thank You”?

What part of His character has shaped you, carried you, or comforted you?

Let gratitude be your gate, and let praise carry you all the way in.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, shape me into a person of praise. Teach me to enter Your presence daily with thanksgiving and worship. Let it become the rhythm of my life.
