PRAISE GOD FOR HIS FAITHFUL LOVE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies. For he has gathered the exiles from many lands, from east and west, from north and south. Some wandered in the wilderness, lost and homeless. Hungry and thirsty, they nearly died. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress. He led them straight to safety, to a city where they could live. Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Psalms 107:1-9 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the “faithful love” of the Lord. God has loved us even when we were not very lovely. He loved us in our failures, weaknesses, sin, and addictions. He has chosen to love us even when we avoid Him, run from Him, and totally disregard His desires for our lives. When we realize we are that loved by God we should speak out and tell others what God has done for us. This Psalm was written to remind the Jews of their restoration from captivity. But this is more than a song about them and their restoration. It is a promise that God’s faithful love that restored Israel is also available to every one of us. In our struggles, our failures, our times of confusion, pain, and frustration we can cry out to the Lord and He will hear us and rescue us. God wants to rescue, restore, and guide us to a place of safety, health, and renewal. We are called upon in this Psalm to praise the Lord for His great love and all the wonderful things He has done for us. He wants to fill us up with good things. He wants to guide us to places of safety and growth. He wants to be our Lord and Savior. Let’s choose today that we will praise the Lord for His faithful love. We can praise Him not just by singing a song or declaring verbal praise. I believe we can praise God by the way we live. We praise God when we choose to put our lives in alignment with His Word.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit please help me today to praise the Lord with my mouth and my actions. Help me to be a person of praise in every part of my life.
