“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Jesus died on the cross, was buried in a borrowed tomb, and rose from the dead on the third day. For the next 40 days Jesus teaches His followers and prepares them for what is going to come ahead. He had already told them He was going away but they didn’t yet understand the fullness of God’s plan. As Jesus ascends to heaven angels speak to His followers and give a prophetic word— “someday He will return from heaven in the same way you saw Him go!” Jesus is coming back! Bible scholars tells us there are 31,102 verses in the Bible and more than 10,000 of them contain prophecy. Of those 10,000 prophecies half of them have already been fulfilled. That means that God has already proven the He keeps His word. He is a promise-keeping, faithful God. Of the 5000 prophecies not yet fulfilled they all relate to events that are to occur at the end of time. While we look around and see many signs that we are nearing the end of time we should be able to realize that these signs are not things falling into place but rather God putting the final pieces of the puzzle together. Jesus is coming back to earth. We don’t know when, but we know He will return to bring justice to earth. He will make the wrongs, right. We can trust our Heavenly Father, He is in charge.

Holy Spirit help me to see Your hand working in my world. Help me to trust in You and be at peace with what You are doing.
