WORLD IS TEMPORARY/WE ARE ETERNAL

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.

Isaiah 46:9-10 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

To be God means that He is in control, all knowing, and all powerful. It also means He knows the past, present, and the future. Any supposed deity that doesn’t meet these requirements is not God. The God of the Bible desires to show Himself to humanity. He wants to be known by us, live with us, and work through us. In order to encourage our faith in God, He has given us some 10,000 prophecies in the Bible. Over half of those prophecies have already been fulfilled while the rest relate to events that are to occur at the end of time. The prophecies about Jesus coming to earth, dying on a cross, and raising from the dead are amazingly accurate even though written hundreds of years in advance. Any honest scholar would have to admit the probability of man writing those prophecies with such accuracy is ginormous. God gave us prophecies through the Old Testament to show His power to know the future from the present. Then God gives us prophecies in the New Testament to build our faith and anticipation of what He is going to do in the future. This world is not permanent. The prophets let us know this is all temporary. But we are eternal. We are designed by God to live with God forever in heaven. Regardless of how bad things get on this earth we are heading to a better place. We have a home in eternity with our Heavenly Father Who loves us, forgives us, and wants to spend eternity with us. This should build faith and anticipation of the future, not fear.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit please help me to keep my perspective in alignment with you. Forgive me for allowing fear and worry over the future to hinder my perspective of the present.
