OUR ALL-ACCESS PASS

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.”

TODAY’S THOUGHT

In Romans 5, Paul turns a major corner. Having thoroughly explained how we are made right with God by faith alone, he now begins to unpack the benefits of that right standing.

To help us grasp the weight of what Jesus accomplished, Paul uses three rich Greek words that unlock our everyday identity as believers.

1. Dikaioo: Declared "Just As If I Never Sinned"

Paul begins with "we have been made right" (translated as justified in many versions). The Greek word used here is Dikaioo.

It is a legal term that literally means to declare someone just, righteous, or completely innocent before a court of law. In Bible college, many of us learned the classic definition: "Justified means 'just as if I'd never sinned.'"

Through faith in Jesus, your spiritual rap sheet has been wiped completely clean. God doesn't just put your sins on probation; He casts them into the sea of forgetfulness, choosing never to hold them against you again. You are not fighting to become right; you are living from a position of already being made right.

2. Eirene: A Peace That Covers Everything

Next, Paul declares that we now have "peace with God." The Greek word here is Eirene (the equivalent of the Hebrew Shalom).

This is far more than a simple absence of conflict or an emotional feeling of calm. Eirene carries the meaning of wholeness, quietness, rest, safety, and spiritual prosperity.

• Peace WITH God is the Foundation: Until our war with God is ended at the cross, true inner peace is impossible. When we live in rebellion, we open the door to constant anxiety, fear, and soul-weariness.

• Peace OF God is the Result: Once we are reconciled to the Father through Jesus, His peace anchors our hearts, enabling us to have peace with ourselves, peace with others, and peace in the middle of chaotic circumstances.

3. Prosagoge: Your "All-Access Pass"

Finally, Paul says Christ has "brought us into" a place of undeserved privilege. The Greek word is Prosagoge, which literally means "admission" or "royal access."

In the ancient world, you couldn't simply walk into the presence of an absolute monarch; you needed an official escort to bring you into the royal court. Jesus is our Prosagoge—He took us by the hand and granted us permanent admission into the Father's presence.

Because of Jesus, you hold a VIP, "All-Access Pass" to everything God has:

• Unlimited access to His presence

• Unlimited access to His peace

• Unlimited access to His supernatural provision and protection

You don't have to stand outside the gate hoping God notices you. You are standing inside the room of undeserved privilege!

Reflection & Application

• Are you living as one who is justified? Do you still carry old guilt and shame, or are you resting in the truth that God has declared you completely innocent through Jesus?

• Are you letting God's peace guard your heart? When worry, fear, or anxiety attempt to invade your life, do you actively stand on the foundation of your peace with God?

• Are you utilizing your "All-Access Pass"? Are you coming boldly to the throne of grace to receive the help, wisdom, and strength you need for today?

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, teach me how to walk fully in the freedom and peace that Jesus purchased for me. Remind me daily that I stand justified before You—innocent, forgiven, and loved.

When the enemy tries to smuggle worry, fear, and anxiety into my heart, help me resist his lies with the unshakable peace of God. Teach me to guard the quietness of my soul in You.

Thank You for my "All-Access Pass" into Your presence. I come boldly today to receive Your peace, Your provision, and Your strength for everything I face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
