SOW A SEED OF KINDNESS

ree

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”

Galatians 6:9–10 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Paul gives us some very practical and encouraging advice about serving others in this passage.

1. Giving Up Is Not an Option

Life is tough. Serving others can be even tougher. It takes energy, sacrifice, and persistence. That’s why Paul reminds us: don’t get tired of doing what is good.

I recently spoke with a pastor who was discouraged. They were struggling to see the fruit of their work. It was easy for them to notice what wasn’t working and hard to recognize the victories. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would open their eyes to the good they were accomplishing.

We all need to be reminded that what we do matters. Every good seed planted counts, even when the harvest isn’t visible yet. Our decision must be “I will not quit.”

2. The Harvest Is Coming

Faith holds on to God’s promise: a harvest will come. It may not arrive when we expect it or look like what we imagined, but God’s timing is always right.

Just as a farmer waits patiently for the season of harvest, we must wait on God’s appointed time. Your labor, your prayers, your faithfulness—none of it is wasted. Trust that the “harvest of blessing” is on the way.

3. Take Every Opportunity

Paul says we should “do good to everyone.” That includes people who are easy to love—and people who are not. Sometimes the greatest opportunities are found in the smallest acts: a kind word, a smile, a short text, a prayer.

Often, the “big” opportunities come because we were faithful in the “little” ones. Every person you meet is soil for a seed. The question is: When was the last time you sowed a seed of kindness for a stranger?

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, help me not to grow weary in serving others. Give me strength to keep planting good seeds even when I don’t see immediate results. Strengthen my faith to believe for Your harvest in due time. Open my eyes to every opportunity to do good, whether to a friend, a stranger, or a brother or sister in Christ. Amen.
