MY TRENCH OF TRUTH
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
How do we get transformed into a new person? We allow God to transform us by changing the way we think.
Years ago, God began to deal with me about the importance of controlling my thoughts. At the time I was struggling with self-confidence and feeling like a failure in a major area of my life. I had anxiety, fear, and worry that haunted me all the time.
One day I felt challenged to take time every morning and then throughout the day to speak God’s Word over my life. I took a small card and wrote a confession based on scriptures the Holy Spirit directed me to. My scriptures were:
“I am confident of this very thing that He Who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
“No weapon formed against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:17)
“Whoever is born of God overcomes the world.” (1 John 5:4)
“Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
From these verses I wrote a declaration I have spoken to myself daily for over 40 years.
“I am confident of this very thing that He Who began a good work in me will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. There is no weapon formed against me that will prosper and every tongue that speaks against me will be silenced. I have the victory that overcomes the world because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”
This was what I call my “Trench of Truth.” When thoughts try to attack my mind, I repeat my trench of truth to combat the wrong thoughts. I have several areas of my life where I have written confessions of scripture in order to renew my mind. I no longer need the written cards; I have said these scriptures so often they are memorized and planted deep in my mind.

Holy Spirit please show me the areas of my life where I need a trench of truth. Help me find Your truth from the Word of God to transform my thinking.
