GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Focus is crucial in life. As a young boy I remember a teacher having us hold our hand up to block out the sun. Then the teacher explained the size of the sun in comparison to our hand. But the fact that we were closer to our hand made it look larger than the sun. Life has its share of disappointments, frustrations, and failures. Pain is a part of the process of life. If we focus on the bad, we can get a distorted view of reality. The writer above acknowledged the pain of his suffering and homelessness. But in the pain, he chose to focus on God's love, mercy, and faithfulness. Our pain is temporary and very small in comparison to the love, mercy, and faithfulness of God. Because we are close to the pain it sometimes appears bigger than God's love, mercy, and faithfulness. But it is not.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I give You praise for your love, mercy, and faithfulness. You love me when I am not very lovable. You give me mercy when I don't deserve it. You are faithful when I am not. I will focus on You even in my pain.
