WINNING THE BATTLE IN THE SPIRIT

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies...”

TODAY’S THOUGHT

I must remind myself of this regularly: I am not fighting people, and I am not fighting political systems. While we deal with the fallout of sickness, poverty, or injustice, our true fight is always against the spiritual forces of evil attempting to destroy God’s creation.

The Strategy of the Wedge

God created us to live in harmony with Him and with one another. However, the enemy works overtime to drive wedges into the hearts and minds of God's children. If he can get us to view "flesh and blood" as the enemy, he has already won a strategic victory by distracting us from the true source of the conflict.

Spirit First, Physical Second

There is a fundamental principle in the Kingdom: Every battle is won in the spirit realm before it is manifest in the physical realm. My prayer list is full of real-world battles: friends fighting cancer, parents grieving over children's life choices, marriages on the brink, and people facing massive financial hurdles. It is easy to look at these as "physical" problems, but they are won at the altar.

When you take your battle to the Lord, the Holy Spirit begins to guide your words and thoughts. You aren't just "hoping" for a change; you are laying each need before Almighty God and speaking His will over the darkness.

Standing Against the Interference

Prayer isn't about demanding that God do exactly what we want. It is about standing against the spiritual forces that are trying to interfere with God's perfect will. I want God’s will because His will is always best—but I must use my spiritual authority to clear the way for it to be done.

Whatever you are facing today, remember your "Passport". You are governed by a different power. Don't waste your energy fighting people; spend your energy in prayer, putting on the armor God has provided for your victory.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, reveal God’s will to me as I stand in prayer today. You are my Provider, my Healer, and my Deliverer. In Jesus’ name, I rebuke every spiritual force that would try to interfere with Your work in my life and the lives of those on my prayer list. I choose to be strong in Your mighty power. Amen.
