TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:19-22 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
There are a variety of views about God. Some see Him as the "Santa-Claus-in-the-sky" who gives us whatever we want. To others He is a judge in a black robe that we try to avoid so He won't whack us with His gavel. Some view God as distant and far off, a God Who created everything and then left us to get by the best we can.
The biblical view of God shows His interest in a personal relationship with His creation. He is a loving God who sent His Son to die for our sins to re-establish a relationship between God and man. Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the penalty for our sins has been paid and now we are free to come boldly into the presence of Almighty God.
God wants to have a personal relationship with us!
This is amazing!
Whatever issues we are facing today we can bring boldly before our Heavenly Father. He wants to be personally involved in our lives. He wants to hear from us.
When Jesus died on the cross the curtain in the Temple was torn in two from top to bottom. That curtain was the curtain that covered the Holy of Holies—the place that housed the Ark of the Covenant. This was a holy place that only the High Priest was allowed to enter. Because of Jesus’ death God’s presence has been made open to all men.
We enter God’s presence through our prayers and praise. We must realize that God is waiting daily to meet with us. He wants to impact our lives through our time with Him.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Heavenly Father, today I come to You through the name of Jesus. Because of His sacrifice I receive forgiveness and freedom to enter Your Presence. I invite You into every part of my life. Teach me Your will and way. Show me how to live to live a life that pleases You.
