GOD TAKES CARE OF ME

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

God wants to supply all our needs. We often think of our needs for healing or finances, but God’s provision in our lives is beyond physical and financial. God is willing and able to supply for our emotional needs, mental needs, spiritual needs, and relational needs as well.

Every need in my life is of interest to my Heavenly Father.

In Matthew six, Jesus taught us to pray what we often refer to as The Lord’s Prayer. In this prayer we are taught to worship God as our Father and then to ask for three things—our daily bread, forgiveness, and protection.

First, we ask for His provision for today — “give us our daily bread.” This part of the prayer is to request provision to deal with our frustrations over the issues of today.

Second, we ask for His pardon for yesterday — “forgive us our debts.” This is where we are dealing with our failures of the past. God forgives when we confess and repent.

Thirdly, we ask for protection for tomorrow — “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” This is where we are asking God to help with our fears about the future.

God wants to give us provision, pardon, and protection to deal with our frustrations, failures, and fears. If I feel frustrated, I need to ask for His daily bread. If I feel like a failure I need to ask for His forgiveness. If I am overwhelmed with fear of the future I need to ask for His protection and peace.

Whatever you need today God wants to be your provider. He has promised to supply all our needs—but that doesn’t mean He provides for our greed. We must learn to “abide in Him”—that means we align our desires to God’s will and accept His will over our lives. If I am not living in alignment with God’s then why would He give me what I need. I would only waste His provision on my selfish pursuits.

One more thought, God’s provision is based on God’s riches, not my riches. My bank account, intellect, or connections is not the limit of God’s provision in my life. His provisions are based on His resources.

God is the creator of the universe. He has unlimited resources. Nothing is too difficult for the God Who said, “Let there be light” and suddenly light came from nothing.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit help me to trust Your provisions for my life. Help me to keep my life in alignment with You so that I can enjoy Your provision in every area of my life.
