ANGELS ARE PROTECTING US

TODAY’S THOUGHT

What is the function of angels?

From scripture we know there are angels around the throne of God constantly worshipping God. We also know that angels are agents of Almighty God given the task of protecting the children of God.

In the New Testament we read, “Are they (angels) not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)

I have heard of many stories of individuals being protected by angels that appeared to be large humans. From scripture it would seem the appearance of angels is rather frightening because their first words seem to always be, “Don’t be afraid.” There is something about their appearance that must be frightening.

God has assigned angels to protect those of us who are followers of Christ. We have heavenly bodyguards around us all the time. 

I believe this thought should cause us to pause and gives thanks for God’s protection in our lives. I believe it should also cause us to be sure that where we go is an appropriate place for angels to go. Are there places we go we shouldn’t be going? Are there things we are doing we shouldn’t be doing with angels around us?

Let your faith grow today as you realize you are protected by the angels of God. They are holding you today.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the protection of Your angels over my life. Today I confess that the angels of God are with me everywhere I go. They are protecting me.
