JESUS IS OUR ONLY WAY, TRUTH, AND LIFE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

John 14:6 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

We live in a culture that does not like absolutes. Most people prefer to just “go along to get along.” Let everyone decide truth for themselves. Some even argue that no one has the right to decide truth for another person.

But society without a fixed truth is chaos. We must have fixed laws that determine right and wrong. We must have laws of math that are fixed 2 plus 2 should always equal 4.

When it comes to our morality, identity, and correct way to live with others there must be a fixed truth. When it comes to these things and man’s relationship with our Creator there is a fixed truth. The Bible is God’s gift to humanity to give us a template for truth.

In our relationship with Father God the Bible declares there is only one way to have a right relationship—through accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is not “a” way, “a” truth, and “a” life. There are not “many roads that lead to heaven.”

C. S. Lewis in his writings argued that Jesus’ own words leave us with only three options about who Jesus was—He was either a liar, lunatic, or Lord. Jesus removed the option of considering Him just a great teacher, role model, or humanitarian. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God and Savior of the world. He claimed to be the only way to have a right relationship with Father God.

At Easter we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. This event proved that Jesus was Who He said He was—He was Lord. He was and is the Son of God and Savior of the world.

Jesus is our only way. The better we know Jesus the clearer we understand the way to life.

Jesus is our truth. The better we know Jesus the better we can make could choices and decisions.

Jesus is our life. The better we know Jesus the easier it is to discover fulfillment, satisfaction, and joy in life.

TODAY’’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit help me to know Jesus better. Help me to study His life and teachings. Help me to understand the way Jesus works.
