A GUIDE AND A LIGHT

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
Psalm 119:105 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
A foolish person is someone who sets out on a trip without directions. I’ll admit—I love my Waze app. I use it constantly because I don’t trust my own memory or instincts to always know the best route. Before GPS existed, I was the guy with the paper map spread across the seat, studying it before I started the drive.
In the same way, our spiritual journey requires direction. We need a guide that shows us how to navigate life’s roads, avoid dead ends, and arrive at the right destination. That’s exactly what God’s Word provides—a map for life.
This map wasn’t written by someone guessing about the future. It was written by the God who created time itself—the One who knows the past, present, and future. His Word is timeless and trustworthy, a steady light that never fades.
The better we know this map, the better we’ll be equipped to live with purpose and reach the destination God has designed for us. We don’t have to wander or guess. God’s Word gives us direction, and His Spirit gives us discernment.
And what a privilege it is to know the Map Maker Himself. God has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us daily nudging us, prompting us, and leading us step by step. But we must choose to listen to those gentle nudges.
Final Thought:
God’s light usually shines just far enough for the next few steps. He rarely reveals the entire path ahead. Our journey with Him is one of trust and faith—walking in obedience with the light we have today, confident that He’ll illuminate the way tomorrow.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me to know God’s plan and purpose for my life. Teach me to understand His Word so well that every decision I make is grounded in Your truth. As I follow You step by step, help me to trust that each small act of obedience leads me closer to Your perfect will. Amen.
