WHEN WE REMEMBER WHAT GOD HAS DONE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Let them all praise the name of the Lord. For his name is very great; his glory towers over the earth and heaven! He has made his people strong, honoring his faithful ones— the people of Israel who are close to him. Praise the Lord!”
Psalms 148:13-14 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
The Psalms have long been called a “medicine chest for the soul.” Within their pages, we find words for every season—laments for the hurting, desperate prayers in dark moments, and bold shouts of praise. No matter what burdens the heart carries, there is comfort to be found in this book of worship.
Psalm 148 reminds us that praise doesn’t begin with how we feel—it begins with who God is. Circumstances rise and fall. Some days hold joy, others bring discouragement, frustration, or failure. If our praise is tied only to our emotions, our worship will constantly shift with life’s highs and lows.
But God never changes. His greatness, mercy, goodness, and power remain constant, and that alone makes Him worthy of praise in every moment.
We praise Him because He has shown us undeserved mercy. Each of us has been forgiven more than we could ever repay.
We praise Him because He has made us His own. We are not kept at a distance or left outside the family. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, God opened the way for us to walk closely with Him. By repentance and faith, we have been brought into His household—purchased, redeemed, and called His people (John 10:11–15).
When we remember what God has done and who He is, praise becomes the natural response—not pride, not presumption, but humble worship.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, shape me into a person of praise. Help me remember all You have done for me and who You are. You alone deserve my gratitude and worship.
