LEARN AND LIVE THE WORD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.”
Proverbs 4:7 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
“Knowledge is power.” — Francis Bacon, 1597
Those words have stood the test of time. And in our modern world of AI, search engines, and instant information, we have access to more knowledge than ever before. The challenge is no longer getting information — it’s knowing what to do with it.
Just last night, my wife Cindy and I were talking about the difference between knowledge and wisdom. Over the years, we’ve both noticed that some people have an abundance of knowledge but very little wisdom. They can quote facts, recall information, and earn impressive degrees, yet seem lost when it comes to applying what they know.
Now, don’t misunderstand — I’m not against learning or education. We should always strive to grow in knowledge. But Proverbs 4:7 reminds us that there’s something even greater than knowledge — wisdom and good judgment.
Knowledge is knowing the facts. Wisdom is knowing how to use those facts.
Good judgment is that inner compass that helps us take what we know and make decisions that please God and benefit others. It’s what turns information into transformation.
And that’s where the Holy Spirit comes in.
When we read and memorize God’s Word, the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to understand it and apply it. Jesus promised that “the Spirit will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13), and Paul said that “the Spirit searches all things” (1 Corinthians 2:10).
That means we don’t have to rely only on human understanding. The Spirit of God living within us will take the knowledge we gain and shape it into wisdom that guides our steps.
Let’s be people who not only learn the Word but live the Word. Let’s invite the Holy Spirit to teach us how to use what we know for God’s glory and our good.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me not just to gain knowledge but to grow in wisdom. Teach me how to apply Your Word to my daily life and to walk in good judgment. Guide my thoughts, my choices, and my actions so that all I do brings honor to You. Amen.
