FILL MY LIFE LORD
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Let’s focus on one phrase, “fill your lives.” We live in a culture that likes to separate and compartmentalize our lives. We have our work life that is Monday through Friday for a certain number of hours. Then we have our family life that is evenings and weekends. Then we have our spiritual life which is our weekend worship experience and small group. For many they divide their lives into each of these areas and try to make sure the proper time is given to each. The mental concept is that each area is important and should never overlap another area. But Paul reminds us of the importance of allowing Jesus to “fill your lives.” That means that Jesus is not just about my worship experience and small group, Jesus wants to be a part of my work, family, and even my play time. Trying to separate my life into neat packages is a sure formula for a disconnect from the reality of who I am. I cannot be three or four different people. There is a term for that which requires medicine to cure. So let’s decide “whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus.” At home, work, and play I am a representative of Jesus.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit please help me to bring You into every part of my life. Help me to live in harmony not in division. Help me to be the same in all circumstances and with all people.
