GOD IS!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.
The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.
The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.”
Psalm 121:1–8 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
When David faced trouble, he lifted his eyes toward the mountains. Those towering rocks seemed to represent strength, stability, and security. But David quickly realized that his help did not come from the mountains—it came from the One who made them.
Our true source of strength is not in what we can see, but in the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
1. God Is Your Protector
David repeats one truth five times in this psalm: God watches over you. That phrase reminds us that His care is constant, personal, and complete.
He doesn’t grow tired, and He never falls asleep on the job. When you’re weary, He’s awake. When you’re uncertain, He’s aware. When you’re afraid, He’s near.
The Lord stands beside you as your shade—protecting, covering, and shielding you from harm.
2. God Sees You
Take a moment today to pause and remember: God is watching over your life. He’s watching over your family, your finances, your health—everything that concerns you.
This reminds me of Hagar in Genesis 16. When she felt mistreated and forgotten, she ran into the wilderness. Yet God met her there, spoke kindly to her, and gave her a promise for her son. In awe she said, “You are the God who sees me.”
Like Hagar, you can rest in this truth—God sees you. He hasn’t lost sight of your situation, and He hasn’t turned away from your need.
3. God Is Faithful—Now and Forever
Even when it seems like God has forgotten you, He hasn’t. The same God who watched over David and Hagar is watching over you right now.
His eyes are on you. His hand is over you. His love surrounds you.
When fear or doubt tries to settle in your heart, don’t run from God—run to Him. He alone is your helper, your protector, and your keeper—both now and forever.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, remind me today that You are watching over me. Help me to live with confidence in Your protection and peace. Thank You for being the God who sees me, protects me, and never leaves me. Amen.
