UNITY INVITES PRESENCE AND POWER

ree

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.”

Psalm 133:1–3 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

David paints a beautiful picture of the blessing that comes when God’s people live together in unity. He uses two powerful analogies to help us understand the value and impact of harmony among believers.

1. The Anointing Oil on Aaron

When Moses anointed Aaron as priest (Leviticus 8:12), he poured oil over Aaron’s head as a sign of consecration. That oil symbolized the Holy Spirit’s presence and empowerment for service.

In the same way, when believers walk in unity, there is an anointing that rests upon them. The Holy Spirit moves freely in a community that chooses harmony over division. Unity creates an atmosphere where God’s presence is welcomed and His power is released.

That means we must reject jealousy, envy, bitterness, gossip, and critical words—anything that divides the body of Christ. True unity isn’t achieved through human effort alone; it’s the work of the Holy Spirit in surrendered hearts.

In my experience, when people are filled with the Spirit of God, it becomes natural to love others—even those who think, vote, or live differently than we do. The Spirit produces harmony where human effort cannot.

2. The Dew on the Mountains

David also compares unity to the refreshing dew from Mount Hermon that nourishes the mountains of Zion. That dew brought life, growth, and renewal to the land—it was a sign of blessing and abundance.

Likewise, when believers live in unity, the Holy Spirit refreshes and revives the church. Spiritual life begins to flourish, people are saved, relationships are healed, prayers are answered, and the miraculous becomes normal.

Unity invites the presence and power of God—and where His presence abides, His blessing follows.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, help me to live in harmony with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Teach me to love, honor, and respect others. May my words and actions build unity so that Your blessing and presence can flow freely among us.
