SHAPING OUR STORY FOR HIS GLORY

ree

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me. The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”

Psalm 138:7–8 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

David understood what it meant to live surrounded by trouble. Some of his problems were the result of his own choices, but many came from the choices of others. For years, he fled from King Saul, who tried to kill him out of jealousy.

David had real enemies—not because he had done wrong, but because others resented the favor of God on his life.

When I first started in ministry, I thought if I loved God and loved people, everyone would love me in return. I never imagined that some would speak against me or that people I once called friends might betray me for their own gain. But life and ministry have a way of revealing the truth David knew well—trouble and betrayal come, even when your heart is right.

From David’s words, we can hold on to two powerful truths in times of trouble:

1. God Is Our Protector

David declares that God will protect and save him with His powerful hand. We, too, can trust in God’s protection even when life feels uncertain or unfair.

Trusting in His protection doesn’t mean we won’t face hardship, disappointment, or pain. It means that through every trial, we can have faith that God is still in control.

Faith says, “I trust God—not just for what He does, but for how and when He does it.”

He may not always work on our timeline, but He will always come through in His perfect time.

2. God Will Fulfill His Plan for My Life

David also reminds us that God will “work out His plans” for us. What a promise! God’s plans for us are good plans to prosper, not to harm.

If your situation doesn’t look good right now, it simply means God isn’t finished yet. The final chapter of your story has not been written. He is still working.

Whatever you’re facing today, you can confidently declare:

“God will protect me, and He will fulfill His plan for my life.”

Yield to the Holy Spirit as He works in you and through you. He is shaping your story for His glory.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, I invite You to work in and through my life. I need Your protection and Your plan to be fulfilled in me. Help me to remain faithful and to trust You in the process. Amen.
