START PRAISING GOD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven!
Psalms 150:1 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Yesterday we saw that praise is not optional — it’s a command from God — and it should happen both corporately (with others) and privately (personally). We also looked at three benefits of praise. Today, let’s finish the list with three more powerful reasons to praise the Lord.
Why should we praise God?
4. Praise is spiritual warfare
David says in Psalm 149:6, “May the high praises of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands.” This shows there is a direct connection between praise and victory. When you praise God, you are pushing back the darkness. Praise lifts your eyes off your problems and puts them on God’s power — it builds your faith and weakens the enemy’s grip.
5. Praise brings joy and peace
Psalm 16:11 reminds us, “In your presence is fullness of joy.” Praise invites you into the very presence of God, where fear, anxiety, and discouragement melt away. No matter what chaos may surround you, praise anchors your heart in His peace and fills you with supernatural joy.
6. Praise glorifies God and testifies to others
Praise magnifies God. It doesn’t make Him bigger — He’s already great — but it makes Him bigger in our eyes and in the eyes of those around us. When people see you praise God through your storms and your victories, it becomes a living testimony of His goodness.
Are you fighting a battle today? — Start praising God!
Are you low on joy and peace? — Start praising God!
Do you want to testify to others about God? — Start praising God!
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me develop a lifestyle of praise. Teach me to praise You in the good times and in the bad times. Make me a person of praise, that my life would glorify You and point others to Your goodness. Amen.
