A SPECIFIC PURPOSE FOR EACH OF US

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.’
Ephesians 2:10 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Here’s some good news: God has something good for you to do with your life!
When God created each of us, He did so with purpose. He placed us here with a specific assignment — a mission that uses our time, our talents, and our treasure in a unique way to make a difference for His kingdom.
But here’s where many of us get off track: we compartmentalize our lives. We put our lives into boxes — family, work, church, personal time — and treat them as separate worlds. We wear different hats depending on the situation and often try to keep those areas from overlapping.
That’s not how God designed us to live.
God wants every part of our life — not just our “spiritual” time — to be part of His kingdom work. We don’t have to wait until Sunday or a church event to do something meaningful for God.
Some people think the only way to truly serve God is by quitting their job and working full-time in ministry. But one of the most powerful places you can serve God is right where you are — in your workplace.
Martin Luther once said:
“The Christian shoemaker does his duty not by putting little crosses on the shoes, but by making good shoes, because God is interested in good craftsmanship.”
Think about that.
What if your excellence at work — your attitude, your work ethic, your integrity — became a way to shine God’s light? What if people started noticing how you carry yourself and were drawn to the peace and the purpose they see in you?
Now, here’s a bigger question:
What if your workplace is your mission field?
Every client, every co-worker, every conversation could be a divine appointment. Most of you, in your jobs, meet more non-believers in a single day than I do in a week as a pastor. That’s a massive opportunity for kingdom impact.
So, here’s the challenge:
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see your job through heaven’s eyes.
Ask Him to show you one person — a co-worker, a customer, a student — that you can encourage or bless today.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit, help me to be an extension of Your kingdom through my work. Let me see others the way You see them. Flow through me — in my words, my attitude, and my actions — so that everything I do reflects Your goodness. Amen.
