ARE YOU A LIFTER?
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
2 Thessalonians 1:3 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
We can be thankful for the people God has brought into our lives. Paul is thankful because these believers had growing faith and love for each other. It is important to have people in our lives who are growing in their faith and love. When we choose to surround ourselves with people who are growing in their faith and love it helps us to grow. The people we choose to spend time with are either encouraging us to grow or discouraging our growth. There are certain people in my life that I know I am better when I hang around them. Just being with them makes me want to be more creative, stretch myself, and accomplish more with my life. There are others that tend to bring me down to a negative place. We should thank God for the people who are lifters in our life. If we don’t have lifters, we should ask God to show us some of those people. And we should be asking the Holy Spirit to empower us to be lifters for others. When we become lifters, we will attract lifters.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Holy Spirit thanks for bringing lifters into my life. Help me to be a lifter to others.
