AN OPEN DOOR TO BLESSING, HONOR AND LONG-LIFE

ree

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold. The rich and poor have this in common: The Lord made them both. A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.”

Proverbs 22:1-4 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Solomon gives us timeless wisdom in these verses:

1. Live with Integrity

True riches are not measured in money but in character. A meaningful life is one in which others respect you for who you are.

Think about Daniel. Taken as a slave to Babylon, he rose to a position of influence and served under multiple kings—something extraordinary for that time. Why? Because he was a man of integrity. His reputation carried weight. Even when threatened with the lions’ den, he refused to compromise his faith or values. His integrity earned him favor with both God and men.

2. Think Ahead

A wise person looks to the future. Decisions made today carry consequences tomorrow. Each day, you are planting seeds that will bring a harvest—either good or bad. The prudent person plans and prepares, while the careless person drifts and suffers. Success doesn’t happen by accident; it comes by living with foresight and discipline.

3. Stay Humble

Everything we have is a gift from God—our talents, our opportunities, our resources. Scripture reminds us that it is God who gives us the ability to produce wealth (Deut. 8:18). Remembering this keeps us humble and grateful. True humility and reverence for the Lord open the door to blessing, honor, and long life.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, help me to walk with integrity, to think wisely about the future, and to remain humble before You. Show me where I need to grow so that I may become the person You created me to be. Amen.
