EVEN WHEN IT’S SLIPPING AWAY

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“I cried out, ‘I am slipping!’ but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.”
Psalm 94:18–19 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Have you ever felt like you were slipping?
There are moments in life when the weight of our circumstances feels overwhelming. Just this morning, before writing this devotion, I woke up early with a couple of very big things in front of me. Each situation is far beyond my ability to control and will require nothing short of God’s miraculous intervention.
Maybe you’ve been there too. I think of friends I know who are battling cancer. Some days the fight feels unbearable, and I feel powerless to fix the problem.
David knew this feeling well. In Psalm 94, he was surrounded by opposition from the wicked and arrogant. Panic, pressure, and pain weighed heavy on him. Yet, instead of being consumed by despair, David turned to the presence of God—and there he found support, comfort, and renewed hope.
This is the same hope available to us. In God’s presence we find everything we need. Paul learned that in his weakest moments God’s grace was more than enough (2 Corinthians 12:9). Jesus reassured us with His words: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you… Do not let your hearts be troubled” (John 14:27).
That means we don’t have to be ruled by worry or fear. We can choose to rest in God’s presence and receive His peace, even when life feels like it’s slipping away from under us.
TODAY’S PRAYER
In Jesus’ name, I receive the peace of God in my life this day. Holy Spirit, fill me with Your presence and remind me that I am not alone. I refuse anxiety, worry, and fear. I declare that God’s unfailing love is holding me up, and His peace is my strength. Amen.
